Dr. Jayaseelan grew up in Lubbock, Texas and received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University. After a short career as a systems engineer, he went to medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where he obtained Honors in Surgical Research for a study on shock under Dr. Tom Shires.
Dr. Jay completed his General Surgery Residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. He was trained by Dr. Don Trunkey (world-famous trauma surgeon), Dr. Lee Swanstrom (President of SAGES, a laproscopic society), and Dr. John Porter (editor of the Yearbook of Vascular Surgery).

Marc Andrew Ward is a minimally invasive surgeon who specializes in benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus and stomach. He is proud to provide a wide range of services for patients 12 and older at the Center for Advanced Surgery, with locations in Dallas, Plano, and Tyler, Texas.
Dr. Ward earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He then completed his internship and residency in general surgery at UChicago Medicine before pursuing a fellowship in minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery at Providence Portland Medical Center in Oregon and L’Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris.
Dr. Ward has traveled all over the world and trained with renowned surgeons such as Lee Swanstrom, MD, and Brice Gayet, MD, who are the pioneers of minimally invasive surgery. He believes in giving patients a better quality of life than they had when they stepped into the office. That means for surgical procedures, he uses minimally invasive surgery to provide patients with a quicker recovery. Board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, he is skilled and provides a variety of treatments for benign and malignant conditions of the stomach, esophagus, and areas of the abdomen.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Ward regularly conducts research to improve his knowledge and further patient care on a larger scale. He uses evidence-based practices and advanced surgical technologies to provide patients with safe, innovative surgeries with quality outcomes. Dr. Iskandar is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He joined Baylor Scott & White in 2019 after spending most of his training and career in New York City. Dr. Iskandar received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut then completed general surgery residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City. After obtaining a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery from NYU-Langone in Brooklyn, he was appointed as an assistant professor of surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he practiced for several years.
Dr. Iskandar’s additional training allowed him to develop his skills and focus on his passion for bariatric surgery and complex abdominal wall reconstruction and hernia surgery. Under his leadership, Baylor Scott & White Center for Hernia Surgery was established for the management of simple to the more challenging complex and recurrent hernias. Dr. Iskandar’s philosophy is to achieve durable and favorable outcomes by better patient preparation for surgery and by using innovative techniques and materials including robotic surgery.
Dr. Iskandar is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgery. He has several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and presentations/abstracts in the fields of hernia and bariatric surgery and has been invited to speak at lectures on his specialty. Dr. Iskandar is fluent in English, French and Arabic.

As a native of Richardson, Texas, Preeti Malladi, MD is excited to serve the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. A Richardson native, Dr. Malladi graduated valedictorian and national academic decathlon champion from J.J. Pearce High School. She attended Stanford University as a Presidential Scholar and completed her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. At the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, she served as vice president of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, president of the American Medical Women’s Association, and graduated first in her class. In addition, Dr. Malladi received the prestigious Ho Din award which is the foremost honor bestowed on a graduating senior who embodies the “spirit of medical wisdom and human understanding.”
Dr. Malladi then specialized in surgery at UCLA in a seven-year academic general surgery residency program. She completed a two-year research fellowship in the field of tissue engineering at the Pediatric Surgical Research Institute at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she studied the differentiation of adipose-derived multipotent cells into bone and cartilage to help children with congenital bone defects. This research earned her the Wilma Miley Morton award for the top chief resident in research and the McCormick award for Women in Academic Medicine.
Dr.Malladi pursued further fellowship training in minimally invasive general and bariatric surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago under the mentorship of Dr. Nathaniel J. Soper, one of the pioneers of advanced laparoscopy and foregut surgery. During this time, she studied laparoscopic, single-incision, and scarless techniques for anti-reflux surgery, gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, gastric banding, and other bariatric and general surgeries.
Dr. Malladi’s practice focuses on foregut surgery and bariatrics using minimally invasive techniques. She is highly experienced and has performed thousands of advanced surgeries. She has presented nationally, conducted international teaching webinars, and has numerous publications and book chapters. Dr. Malladi was elected a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2014, is a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatrics Surgeons (FASMBS), and serves on the technology committee for the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
